Led design, development and operations of the complex Linux based network of different VoIP components like SIP servers, Voicemail and Announcement systems and others (SIP protocols, SER, asterisk). Responsible for design, development and operation of Libretel (www.libretel.com) eCommerce Web site which provides such telecommunication services as virtual phone numbers and conferencing services around the world.

    Next generation Business Social Networking site. Innovative concept which will take social networking to the next level by solving problems existing in this field today. Created together with another co-founder the concept, incorporated the company, applied for a patent (patent pending) as well as led all technical aspects of developing the site (including managing the offshore development team in Russia).The beta site (www.vshake.com) is up and running.

    Mintz and Co, developed new type of financial securities. Responsible for the overall technical management of the company which included complex financial system with an exchange system for the special securities and online brokerage site which allowed users to purchase these securities. The whole system was built in less than 10 months with a fraction of usual cost for such a development.

Compugen Inc, a leading provider of bioinformatics software and hardware solutions, supplied bioinformatics systems for gene searching to a most major pharmaceutical companies and the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.

  • Successful turnaround of the company's IT department. In less than 10 months from a pretty dysfunctional organization created a great, performance driven team which by account of other top managers in the company performed above and beyond their expectations.
  • Led multi-million dollar project for US Patent Office. Responsibility included managing all technical aspects of the project through all the stages (from RFP through successful evaluation, rollout and production mode). Project led to an ongoing $2M-$3M a year relationship with USPTO.
  • Significantly improved the service levels, computers' and networks' robustness, and systems' security. Created teams driven organization, which is very well motivated and suited for the tasks it needs to perform. Successfully changed the IT's work from just a problem troubleshooting mode to the much more efficient work which includes problems prevention, strategic planning and active participation in R&D projects. Build and mentored the management team for IT organization.
  • Led Compugen's IT (including all company offices worldwide), including planning, developing, managing and budgeting Information Systems companywide (responsibility over $2M+ yearly budget). Managing and maintaining a strong technical team (20+ people) - including recruitment, motivating, training, retention and career development of worldwide IT team. Part of this period was responsible for the whole US branch of the company.
  • Information security in the company. Responsibilities included designing and implementation of security policies, purchase decisions and implementation of security products, penetration testing and overseeing the applications security.
  • Led development and operation of various Web, E-commerce and complex algorithms projects which included distributed development, support and later operation of multiple production high volume Web sites.
  • Full life cycle of the projects from RFP and requirements to rollout, maintenance and support.
  • Managed geographically distributed team of 20-30 software developers who were specialized over different fields (web, databases and algorithm developers).
  • Off-shore outsourcing of the software development.

    Overseeing software development practices at offshore outsourcing firm specializing in software programming, algorithm development, primarily in the life sciences; directing software projects on a company-wide basis.

Fidelity Investment, Fidelity Capital Markets Oct 2003 - Apr 2004
    Consulting on a FIX gateway project at Fidelity Capital Markets. Design and development of the ‘smart’, rules based gateway for FIX protocols which allowed routing of the FIX messages between different clients and marketplaces. High throughput system developed is used by Fidelity Capital market to automatically route any incoming order to appropriate security exchange according to the complicated rule-based system.
MobiWiFi
    Pre-Startup project. Creation of the product which uses the combination of WiFi and 3G cellular data network technologies to provide the Internet connectivity on the go (cars, trains). Project won a second place in Boston University 30K Business plan competition.

    Participated in company restructuring project for the biggest publishing company in Russia. Was part of the small team, which was hired by the owners of the company to create a restructuring plan for the company.
